Organizations & Ways to Have an Impact

The YWCA of Rochester & Monroe County works to help women and girls who are faced with personal crises including homelessness and teen pregnancy. We also work hard to dispel stereotypes and promote racial justice. Our goal is to empower women to regain control of their lives and get on the path to a healthy, successful future. More information on how to volunteer with the YWCA can be found HERE.

Women United of United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes comprises the region’s most inspiring, proactive women leaders dedicated to building a more robust, greater community for all to live, work, play, and thrive.

Willow Domestic Violence Center provides support for survivors of domestic violence through emergency housing, safety planning, court accompaniment, and more. To learn more about the signs of domestic abuse and how to support those who may be survivors of domestic violence, visit Willow’s Resource Center.

Sojourner House offers resources to survivors of domestic and sexual assault, including safety planning, emergency housing, education resources, and future planning. They also actively work to educate the community on the social systems that allow this type of violence to exist. More information on how to volunteer with Sojourner House can be found HERE.

Dress for Success works to combat poverty in the Rochester area by giving women the resources they need to feel their best going into job interviews, as well as by providing programming and leadership training to disenfranchised women in the Rochester community.
