Making Homeownership More Affordable HomeAssist Grants
Buying a home comes with a lot of moving parts—especially when it comes to affordability. That’s why GRB is proud to offer the HomeAssist® grant program,* which provides $12,000 in grant assistance for income-qualified homebuyers to help with down payment and closing costs.
The cost of financing a home has risen significantly; primarily driven by higher interest rates, increasing home prices, and low housing inventory. With the new HomeAssist Program, GRB can provide funding to support down payments and closing costs for low- to moderate-income borrowers. HomeAssist funding helps reduce monthly principal and interest payments—improving overall home affordability.
GRB is one of a limited number of lenders in Central and Western New York able to offer HomeAssist. But funds are limited. We encourage interested homebuyers to reach out as soon as possible to begin the qualification process.
HomeAssist Details
HomeAssist helps reduce upfront homebuying costs and offers buyers a number of benefits:**
- $12,000 in grant funds for eligible borrowers
- First time homebuyer status is NOT required
- Funds can be used toward down payment and/or closing costs
- Available for owner occupied, single family primary residences
- No repayment required, as long as program guidelines are met
- Available to income qualified buyers (up to 80% of Area Median Income)
- May be combined with other eligible assistance programs
